Nathan Baptiste

Mindfulness & Leadership Development Guide

As a certified mindfulness meditation instructor and team development specialist for equity and belonging, I guide leaders, professionals, and care-takers who are dedicated to serving others to cultivate mindfulness skills that reduce stress, strengthen connection, and build individual and collective wellness.

Drawing from 25 years of practice, I've developed a framework - called the C.A.L.M. Approach - that helps to make mindfulness accessible and practical to slow down from the chaotic pace of busy professionals to act with greater calm, clarity, and connection. The emphasis is on compassion—especially self-compassion—as a key ingredient for sustainable wellbeing.

My purpose is to support leaders, caretakers, and change-makers who give so much of themselves to others, in order to find balance and renewal through mindfulness practices that benefit both individual and collective wellness.

Testimonials

"I appreciated that for my first time, the instructions and background were very clear. I also appreciated that during the meditation portion, Nathan would speak words to bring the meditation back to focus preventing the mind from wandering too long."

"It was very calming! The host was empathetic and it seemed like he was only talking to me 1/1 not a big class!"

"It was a great mental awareness/reminder to breathe, and balance my blend of wisdom, passion in both decision making, problem solving, and communication."

"It really increases the probability that I will take time out of my day to do a bit of self-care!"

"I thoroughly enjoyed taking this mindfulness journey with Nathan. I learned so much about mindful listening, being compassionate to myself and others, and how to create an environment where everyone feels included and safe. I also really liked the way Nathan skillfully combined mindfulness practice, research, practical exercises and real life examples to deepen our understanding of equity and belonging. I will undoubtedly use the strategies and approaches I learned in this series in my life and work."

"Nathan embodies leadership by expertly leading difficult conversations involving multi-issue, multi-party trainings.

As someone who studied facilitation and negotiation in multicultural settings and used these skills, I can personally attest that this training is vital in the knowledge it provides and practical for the skills you will develop to increase your performance and inner peace.

For approximately 10 years, I have been involved with anti-racist work, advocating for diversity, and working with youth. In this span I have attended countless trainings for leadership, skills development, and others. Nathan's training stands out because his approach has a cadence that allows one to learn and grow in a group training.

This training impacted me in such a way to embody the values of DEBI and to be intentional of how I communicate and operate through this lens. I believe this training is valuable for professionals who are serious about doing DEBI systems work by leaning into intrapersonal and interpersonal reflective practices, in addition to small group communications and organizational operations."

"I loved the sessions. Nathan is a great teacher/leader. I never thought I could meditate or be able to focus more, ever, but here I am, thanks to the sessions. I also love how Nathan tied mindfulness to inclusion and equity, quite an innovative and effective strategy. I appreciate his methodical approach and could sense that he has extensive experience doing this. I highly recommend this course and will share with my staff"

"It was clear, easy to do, a short time commitment and the instructor was terrific."

"It is a nice, quiet, peaceful time to forget about everything and get my thoughts together, feel refreshed and ready to go and get back to work after the session."

"The meditation was very useful in reducing stress. I really enjoyed it and I hope they can continue to offer sessions at least once a week on a regular basis."

"I love the reminder that Mr. Baptiste gives us that returning the wandering mind IS the practice."
